HIT - The Second Case ... Streamed on OTT

HIT 2, a current mystery-thriller by Adivi Sesh, has just debuted on OTT. Later last night, the movie became streamable on Amazon Prime Video.

Currently, Amazon only offers the Telugu version for streaming. Soon, more languages will be included.

Sesh and Meenakshi Chaudhary star as the main characters in the mystery-thriller HIT 2. Sailesh Kolanu is the film's director.

The third instalment of the HIT franchise – HIT 3 will have Nani in the lead role. The makers stated this will be a 7-part franchise.

  

In February 2021, one year after the publication of HIT: The First Case, Nani revealed there would be a sequel. The franchise's original director, Sailesh Kolanu, will be helming this. Vishwak Sen has been replaced in the sequel by Adivi Sesh. Sesh is the lead character because Nani wants the franchise to be "idea based" rather than "star oriented," hence the action is now taking place in Andhra Pradesh instead of Telangana. 

Due to schedule issues, Meenakshi Chaudhary, who played Sesh Sen's opposite, claimed that he was disappointed not to have been a part of HIT 3 or 4. A pooja ceremony was then held in March 2021 to officially introduce the movie. In December 2021, Nani stated that Hyderabad was used for filming, and that 90% of the shoot had been completed. It was announced in July 2022 that the final programme will start in August 2022.

On December 2, 2022, HIT:  The Second Case was presented in theatres. The movie's initial release date was set for July 29, 2022. Sesh revealed that the film's postponement was caused by the promotion for his movie Major (2022) as well as production problems. The movie was given a "A" rating on November 25 due to its graphic content and use of profanity.

The cost of selling the movie's theatrical rights was 14.5 crore. On December 30, 2022, a Hindi-dubbed version was presented in theatres. On January 3, 2023, Amazon Prime streamed the movie.

 The plot of "HIT 2" revolves around a string of horrific killings that rock the foundations of a serene community near Visakhapatnam. Before any more ladies fall victim to the serial killer's sadistic spree, Krishna Dev or KD (Adivi Sesh) of HIT (Homicide Intervention Team) is tasked with unravelling the riddle and capturing him. Unknowingly making matters worse, KD soon realises that he is not following the trail of a typical crook. KD's investigation of the mystery increases the stakes unimaginably high as he finds himself in an unusual scenario as the enigmatic layers of the crime begin to unravel. He works with his trusted dog Max and the team of forensic professionals who are racing against time.

The Director Sailesh Kolanu says "Good thriller movies are not only about the crime, but also the suspense it can generate along with the heart-stopping moments that keep the audience hooked to their screens, no matter what,". We made an effort to expand on the HIT brand after The First Case's popularity by engrossing the audience in a plausible yet tense crime thriller. Even if writing and directing The Second Case may have been difficult, Sesh has done an outstanding job honouring both his part and the plot that we had in mind. Since Prime Video will allow the movie to be seen in 240 different nations and territories, we are eager for its release.

A cop is never an easy role to play, Adivi Sesh continued. More preparation was needed for the intensity, seriousness, and emotional trajectory that followed the plot's flow than for the character's appearance, mannerisms, and body language. The audience will be invested in the characters and plot of this film, unlike other thrillers, and will be praying that the HIT squad manages to apprehend the crazed serial killer before it's too late. After a successful run in theatres, I'm thrilled that the movie is now available for streaming on OTT to a global audience.
